CLEVELAND, Ohio - Indians manager Eric Wedge isn't sweating out what may be his
last two weeks with Cleveland.
Their season sabotaged by injuries and marked by colossal
trades, the Indians have lost eight straight games and dropped into
last place in the AL Central. They began the year as a trendy pick
to make it to the World Series.
A decision on Wedge is expected quickly after the Indians'
final game on Oct. 4 in Boston. Wedge, in his seventh season with
Cleveland, understands the business side of baseball and said
Monday at an appearance at an elementary school that he has not yet
been told of any change.
Wedge is 557-564 since taking over the Indians in 2003. He
was chosen the AL's top manager in 2007 after Cleveland won 96
games and made it to the ALCS.
