FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Milwaukee Bucks forward Joe Alexander was assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Milwaukee’s NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today. Alexander’s assignment is the 15th to an NBA D-League affiliate this season.
Originally selected by Milwaukee with the 8th overall selection
in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft, Alexander appeared in 59
games for the Bucks last season, averaging 4.7 points, 1.9 rebounds
and 12.1 minutes. Alexander has yet to appear in a game this season
after suffering a strained right hamstring in training camp.
A three-year contributor and two-year starter at West
Virginia, Alexander averaged 12.1 points and 5.6 rebounds in 82
career games. He was named First Team All-Big East and Conference
USA Tournament MVP as a junior.
Bucks fans can stay in step with Alexander, who will join the
Mad Ants tomorrow on the road in Iowa and be available for the
team’s game against the Energy on Friday, Jan. 22, by logging
onto nba.com/dleague to watch all of the Mad Ants’ games
live, online, for free. Fans can also tune into VERSUS on Saturday
Jan. 23, when Alexander is expected to play in the nationally
televised game between Fort Wayne and Iowa at 11pm ET.
