ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Antoine Agudio scored 29 points for the Thunderbirds, include 9 in the game’s final 4:38, to lead Albuquerque to a 108-104 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Wednesday night. Keith McLeod added 20 points for the T-Birds while also dishing out a game high 9 assists.

Marcus Hubbard added 18 points for Albuquerque, with Shane Edwards rounding out the T-Birds in double figures with 11.

Albuquerque led 57-43 at the half, fueled largely by hot shooting from the outside. Albuquerque connected on 8 threes in the first half.

The Thunderbirds pushed the lead to 20 early in the third quarter, taking a 72-52 lead on a free throw from Hubbard with 7:53 to go in the period.

Fort Wayne battled back in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to five with 5:12 to play in the game. Albuquerque responded, however, outscoring the Mad Ants 10-3 over the next three minutes to push the lead back to double figures.

A floater by Agudio with 24.1 seconds remaining iced the win for Albuquerque, and the T-Birds held on for the four point victory.

Sean Sonderleiter led the Mad Ants with 20 points. Dan Dickau, Robert Kurz and Ryan Ayers each added 16 for Fort Wayne.

The team will be in action again on March 12 when they host the Erie Bayhawks.
