Fort Wayne Mad Ants forward Luke Harangody has been named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played during January. The honor is the first of Harangody’s career.
Harangody, a 6’8” forward out of Notre Dame, led the Mad Ants to an 8-4 record during January, averaging 21.5 points and 13 rebounds per game. He recorded ten double-doubles during the month and scored 20-plus points in six games, including a season-high 31 points on January 19 th against the LA D-Fenders.
Since joining the Mad Ants on December 28th, Luke has led the team to a 10-4 record, averaging 21.4 points and 13.4 rebounds and recording a double-double in every game but one. He broke a franchise record for defensive rebounds during his first game as a Mad Ant on December 28th against the Texas Legends. Harangody was named to the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase First Team after averaging 22.5 points and 14 rebounds in the team’s two showcase wins, and was named NBA D-League Performer of the Week for games played January 7-13.
