The Harlem Globetrotters hadn't lost to the Washington Generals since 1971 - and they still haven't.
All week long, WANE-TV Sports Director Glenn Marini prepared for the big game. He tried to warn the Globetrotters of his skills even going so far as to show them some old high school footage. After all of the buildup, the showdown took place Thursday night at the Memorial Coliseum.
Marini only played a few minutes during the second quarter of the game shooting 1-3 from the field finishing with two points on the night.
Unfortunately, the Generals couldn't muster enough offense to upset the Globetrotters falling 123-112.
