FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants beat the division leading Canton Charge 115-102 on a snowy Tuesday evening in Fort Wayne to push their record to 19-19. Tony Mitchell and Ron Howard led the Ants once again with 27 and 26 points, respectively.
The Mad Ants took charge of the game early and played likely the best half of basketball this season. After outscoring the Charge 34-29 in the first quarter, the Mad Ants went on a quick 18-3 run to start out the second quarter and push their lead to twenty points, 52-32. The Mad Ants continued their stifling defense throughout the quarter and held the Charge to just 12 points in the quarter and went into the locker room with a 70-41 halftime lead.
The Charge put together a strong third quarter, but the Ants held off any true challenges to their lead, and Fort Wayne took home the 115-102 victory. For the Charge, Kyle Weaver scored 21 points, and Travis Franklin added 16.
Beyond Mitchell and Howard, Anthony Richardson scored 16 points, and Luke Harangody scored 16 points in his first game coming back from injury.
