DALLAS - Cowboys outside linebacker and Bishop Luers grad Anthony Spencer will make $8.8 million this season with his franchise tag, and safety Gerald Sensabaugh expects to be ready for training camp after arthroscopic knee surgery.
Sensabaugh sent out a tweet that he had a "very minor procedure" last week to clean up his right knee. He said he plans to be ready for the start of training camp in California in two weeks.
Meanwhile, as expected, there was no long-term contract extension reached by Monday's deadline between the Cowboys and Spencer, their 2007 first-round pick out of Purdue.
Spencer has 21 1/2 sacks in 76 career games, including 53 starts. He has started all but one game the past three years. He had 66 tackles with six sacks and four recovered fumbles last season.
