Spiece Hosts Huge Tournament

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A huge tournament took place out at Spiece Fieldhouse this weekend.

More than 80 teams from around the country came to the Summit City to participate in the 9th Gym Rats Martin Luther King Classic

The number of teams nearly doubled from last year's tournament.
Nationally recognized teams such as the Texas Titans were on hand.
The Titans are funded by billionaire Kenny Trout and travel by chartered jet to tournaments around the country.

Third through eighth grade teams participated and the tournament is only expected to get bigger with time.  The Titans' team defeated the Indy Hoosiers to capture the sixth-grade title.
