WICHITA, KS. - Komets center Colin Chaulk says at this time of year tired is for losers. If that's the case - the Komets are proving to have a surplus of energy. The K's routed Wichita 6-3 in game two of the CHL Finals to take a commanding 2-0 series lead as the action shifts to Fort Wayne.

The Thunder actually held an early 1-0 lead following a Kevin Seibel goal midway through the first period. A little over three minutes later, however, J.M. Rizk netted the equalizer and the blow out was on.

The Komets offense exploded for three goals in a seven minute stretch during the middle portion of the second period. Daniel Maggio got the scoring started at the 7:36 mark, before Chris Auger found the back of the net on a Komets power play. Mike Vaskivuo capped off the scoring run with his first goal of the series on a feed from Colin Chaulk.

Wichita scored for the second time in the closing minutes of the period - but by that point it was meaningless.

The K's added goals from Bobby Chaumont and a second from Chris Auger in the third, reaching their final total of six for the night.

Nick Boucher was strong in net again - stopping 27 of the 30 shots he faced.

The series continues on Thursday night at the War Memorial Coliseum with game three.
