FORT WAYNE, IN. - The Komets are on the move and this time the landing spot is the ECHL. According to sources the franchise is expected to announce the move Thursday afternoon at a 4 p.m. press conference.

Following the expiration of the Komets two-year contract with the CHL, many anticipated the team to make the jump. Winning the franchises first ever President's Cup Championship last week only served to further fuel speculation.

This will be the third league in four years that the team has been a member of - the Komets had a successful stint in the IHL that came to an end in 2010 and included three straight league titles.

The move means the Komets will now play teams in Toledo, Kalamazoo, and Cincinnati.

Evansville has also announced a press conference tomorrow at 11 a.m. Like the Komets, the Icemen are expected to announce their decision to leave the CHL for the ECHL.
