Komets Beat Mavs 4-1 To Force Game 7

FORT WAYNE - With their backs against the wall the Komets came out firing in game six of the Turner Conference Finals against Missouri en route to a 4-1 win, forcing a decisive game seven on Thursday night at the Coliseum.

The Komets came into the night down three games to two in the best-of-seven series.

Fort Wayne scored the game's first goal at 12:28 in the first period when defenseman Jamie Milam would find the net.

In the second period the Komets kept up the pressure. Mike Vaskivuo scored at 2:03 to give Fort Wayne a 2-0 lead. Four minutes later Colin Chaulk would score to increase the lead to 3-0.

The Komets made it 4-0 at 7:27 in the third when Bobby Chaumont would score. The Mavericks would get on the board at 13:51 with a powerplay goal from Dale Mahovsky to set the final.

Nick Boucher stopped 31 of 32 shots he faced. The Komets out-shot the Mavericks 47 to 32.

Game seven will be played Thursday night at the Coliseum at 7:30 p.m.
