FORT WAYNE - Busy is the word to best describe the Komets front office this offseason as general manager David Franke is building a roster for the team's foray into the ECHL.
As an expansion team, the Komets do not have the ability to protect the rights of any of their players, making them all free agents. Franke says this makes putting together a roster more challenging than years past. He expects a few signings to be announced as early as late next week.
One of the team's top priorities this offseason is determining the future of Colin Chaulk. Chaulk is expected to meet with the Komets brass tomorrow as they explore a player-assistant coaching position.
