The Komets scored early and often Wednesday night against Bloomington en route to a 5-0 victory at War Memorial Coliseum.
Colin Chaulk helped get things started early in the first period as he fed a wide open Konstantin Shafranov for a goal just 4:01 into the game.
Later in the first period Matt Syroczynski's shot would be stopped but Mitch Woods and Sean O'Connor would crash the goal with O'Connor pounding home a rebound to make it 2-0 just 7:12 into the game.
Still in the first Kaleigh Schrock would hit O[Connor as "OC" buried a shot into the net, giving the Komets a 3-0 lead after one.
Chaulk would add another goal to the Fort Wayne tally 19:33 into the second frame to stake the K's to a 4-0 lead.
In the third period Fort Wayne's Justin Chwedoruk would score just 5:28 into the frame to increase the lead to 5-0.
The Komets host Muskegon at 8 p.m. Friday night. They host Port Huron Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
