TOLEDO, Ohio (WANE) - The Komets tallied three goals in the third period goals en route to a 4-2 win at Toledo on Wednesday.
The Walleye led 2-1 heading into the final frame but Josh Brittain scored his fourth goal of the season at 11:28 to knot the game up.
Less than a minute later Stephon Thorne scored his first goal on the season off a face-off, giving the Komets a 3-2 lead.
Brett Smith would add an empty net goal as the Komets won 4-2.
J.M. Rizk scored Fort Wayne's other goal on a powerplay in the first period.
Charlie Effinger stopped 26-of-28 shots to earn the victory.
The Ks will be back home Friday when they host Evansville at 8 p.m. Mike "Doc" Emrick will be in the booth with Bob Chase for the call.
