MOLINE, Ill. (WANE) - Mired in a second half hangover, the Komets broke out of their recent slump with a 4-1 win at Quad City Sunday.

The Komets had lost four of the last five following the All-Star break.

A quick score by Stephon Thorne set the tone just 2:33 into the game.  The Komets led 1-0 after the first period.

Jean-Michel Rizk and Brent Henley found the net just 2:11 apart in the second as the K's jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two periods.

Quad City would finally get on the scoreboard at the 6:15 mark in the third, but Chris Auger added an emptynet goal with 1:35 left in the game to seal the Komets victory.

Nick Boucher stopped 32 of 33 shots in net for the win.

The Komets travel to Arizona Friday.
