Komets Lose Critical Game In KZoo 3-2

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Komets fell in a crucial ECHL game at Wings Stadium on Friday night to Kalamazoo 3-2.

The Komets led 1-0 after one thanks to Thomas Beuregard's 22nd goal of the season. Beauregard's tally came on the powerplay at 15:48.

Kalamazoo knotted the game at 1-1 when Aaron Clarke netted a short-handed goal at 17:48 in the second period. Nick Wheeler gave the Komets the lead back just 1:10 later when he scored his second goal of the year.

Fort Wayne couldn't hold on in the final frame. Alexandre Grenier scored his fifth goal of the season at 1:44 to tie the score at 2-2. At 9:39 Clarke would score the game-winner, setting the final at 3-2.

Jeff Deslauriers - who was just send back down to Fort Wayne by the NHL's Anaheim Ducks - stopped 32 of 35 shots in goal.

The Komets are back at home tomorrow night when they host Greenville at 7:30 p.m. at War Memorial Coliseum.
