FORT WAYNE - The Komets won the Central Hockey League championship in just their second year in the league. Now the question is will they be staying in the CHL?

The Komets' contract with the CHL is now up. Team president Michael Franke said a decision on what league to play in next season will be made by June 1. According to The News-Sentinel's Komet beat writer Blake Sebring expect the Komets to be playing in the ECHL next year.

The ECHL would re-unite the Komets with rival Kalamazoo. It would also provide close competition in Cincinnati and Toledo. Evansville would likely also jump to the ECHL with the Komets.
