Admirals Recall Luca Caputi From Komets

The Norfolk Admirals have recalled forward Luca Caputi from their ECHL affiliate, the Fort Wayne Komets.

Caputi, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound left wing, has appeared in 12 games with the Admirals this season, netting one goal and six points. He has also netted six goals and 14 points in 15 games with Fort Wayne.

The 24-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario, has appeared in 205 career AHL games between the Admirals, Syracuse Crunch, Toronto Marlies and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, posting 55 goals and 128 points. He has also played 35 career NHL games between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins, scoring three goals and nine points. In 18 career ECHL games between Fort Wayne and the Wheeling Nailers, Caputi has eight goals and 17 points.

Prior to turning pro, Caputi skated in 214 junior games with the OHL’s Mississauga/Niagara IceDogs, registering 86 goals and 185 points. He was Pittsburgh's fourth-round choice (111 th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Caputi signed an AHL Standard Player's Contract with Norfolk on September 21, 2012.

The Admirals return to Scope on Wednesday to face off against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:15 p.m. in another Admirals Value Night, with Family Fun Packs and Student Rush Night tickets available.
