FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Komets have just four weeks and 12 games left to show they belong in the playoffs.

Fort Wayne is currently 10th in the Eastern Conference standings, with only the top eight teams making the playoffs. The Komets have 61 points on the season, trailing eighth-place Florida by seven points.

The Komets host Florida on Friday and Saturday in a weekend series that can make or break the Komets' playoff chances.

Fort Wayne is riding a hot streak after picking up five points in three games last week. The additiona of defensemen Gabe Guentzel and Nick Schaus from Norfolk has helped solidify the defense. Goaltender Jeff Deslauriers continues to prove why he has spent time in the NHL.
