Komets get Sunday revenge on Cincy

K's four points back of first place

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Komets knocked off the division leading rival Cincinnati Cyclones Sunday at the Memorial Coliseum 3-2 in overtime.  6,309 Fort Wayne faithful witnessed the exciting win to push the Komets into second place in the North Division, four points back of the Cyclones after 40 games.  

Five of the players called up from Dayton (FHL) and Pensacola (SPHL) collectively got on the scoreboard with career firsts as Brayden Metz scored the first goal of the game, defenseman Jeremy Gates dished an assist, forward John Dunbar netted the Komets' second goal, defenseman Nick Wheeler collected an assist and forward Mike Hoban scored his first game winning goal with the deciding tally in overtime.

Komet netminder Kenny Reiter earned his fourth straight win and second of the week.  Reiter posted a 1.40 goals-against average and .924 save percentage for the week as well.

The week ahead puts the Komets at Evansville this Wednesday, home to Toledo Friday for the last Komet home game before the Circus break at the Coliseum, and at Kalamazoo Saturday night.
