FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The ECHL season has reached the all-star break, meaning it is a perfect time to pick up on "Inside The Zone" every Monday with The News-Sentinel beat writer Blake Sebring and WANE sports director Glenn Marini.

In their first season in the ECHL the Komets are currently tied for second place in the North Division with a 22-19-1 record. Fort Wayne's 46 points tie them with Toledo behind division-leading Cincinnati (52 points).

Defenseman Daniel Maggio - who Blake predicted as the team's MVP in the ITZ preseason show - is the Komets lone all-star this season. Brandon Marino (12 goals, 35 assists in 42 games) also deserves recognition according to Blake.

J.M. Rizk has emerged as an offensive force, leading the team with 15 goals this season. Thomas Beauregard and Colin Chaulk are battling injuries, and Beauregard is expected back soon after this week's break.

All these topics plus the Komets struggles and home along with the up-and-down nature of ECHL rosters are discussed in this week's edition of "Inside The Zone."
