After needing overtime to get past Westfield in the regional semi-finals, South Side left no doubt in the championship game Saturday night. The Archers flew past a stout Logansport team 71-55 behind 20 points from senior Ariana Simmons. Simmons also eclipsed 20 points in the semis.

DeJoyah Johnson and Lynnia Noel each reached double figures as well as the Archers shot 42 percent from the floor while holding Logansport to 36 percent shooting.

South Side will meet Warsaw in semi-state next week in Warsaw. The Tigers outlasted Merrillville in a thriller to capture their regional championship.

Earlier in the day, Snider couldn't hold onto a fourth quarter lead, falling to Logansport 56-50 in the semi-finals.
