FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) - Sectional champions were crowned around Indiana in girls basketball on Saturday night - narrowing the field as the drive to a state championship continues.

In 4A, South Side claimed hard earned crown with a thrilling 54-53 win over Homestead. The win avenged a one point loss to the Spartans early in the regular season. The Archers led by ten at the half and held off a late charge from the Spartans. Elsewhere, Snider won its sectional as the host, blowing out Northrop 67-29. Meredith Shipman led all scorers with 21 points.

In 3A Concordia's march to a third state championship in four years is still in tact. The Cadets used a huge fourth quarter run to pull away from Angola 53-41. The game was tied after the first quarter, and the Hornets trailed by only two points at the half and entering the fourth before Concordia turned on the jets. Norwell had no trouble wrapping up the Mississinewa sectional with a 76-42 win over Heritage.

In 2A, Bishop Luers advanced to regional play with 54-13 win over South Adams in Bluffton. Wabash won a low-scoring affair over Manchester 33-27.

Finally - in Class A Canterbury continues its postseason run with a dominating 87-34 win over visiting Bethan Christian.
