FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The South Side girls basketball team made program history this past weekend, winning its first semi-state championship by defeating Warsaw. Now, the Archers are just one win away from the ultimate goal - a 4A state title.

The Archers (24-3) will face Bedford North Lawrence (27-0) Saturday at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute for the 4A championship. Tip is set for roughly 8:30 p.m. following the 3A title game.

South and Bedford North Lawrence have already met this year with Bedford winning 63-39 on January 26.

The Archers went into the tournament as the no. 11 team in the 4A state rankings while Bedford was no. 2. The Stars knocked off no. 1 Columbus North 71-45 in regionals.

The numbers are fairly equal for these teams - South scores 63.2 points a night and gives up just 45.7. Bedford scores 62.3 points a game and yields just 38.
