NORTHEAST, Ind. (WANE) - With the Super Bowl two days away, the local sports scene took center stage on Friday Night. And in the SAC it was still a two horse race as Elmhurst hosted South Side. With a Kristian Gayday buzzer beating three pointer, the Trojans jumped in front of the SAC standings with a 49-48 win. With a win Thursday at Concordia, Elmhurst would win its first ever SAC Championship.

On the girls side, the Norwell Lady Knights downed county rival Southern Wells 59-24, to complete a perfect regular season. The 20-0 NHC Champs start postseason play Tuesday night, taking on Peru at Wayne High School in 3A Sectional 22.
