FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Click on the VIDEO tab to your left to see tonight's McDonald's All-American presentation with Deshaun Thomas along with game highlights of Luers-Canterbury and Elmhurst-Concordia.
Deshaun Thomas of Bishop Luers has been named to the McDonald's All-American team, becoming just the third player from Fort Wayne to earn the honor.
Thomas is preceeded by Harding's Jim Master (1980) and South Side's John Flowers (1981).
Thomas will play in the McDonald's All-American game scheduled for March 31 in Columbus, Ohio.
Thomas is averaging 33 points a game to lead the state of Indiana. He's under 300 points away from breaking Damon Bailey's state record for career points (3,134).
Thomas was honored before the game by McDonald's representatives. He then went on to score a game-high 26 points as Luers topped Canterbury on senior night, 89-62.
Elsewhere on Thursday Elmhurst saw it's chance to clinch it's first SAC boys title outright slip away at the hands of Concordia, 62-59. The Cadets finish conference play at 7-2 while Harding is 6-2. The Hawks have the head-to-head edge over Concordia. Harding still has to play South Side.
