In the quest for Indiana's all-time state scoring record Bishop Luers senior Deshaun Thomas stands within striking distance as the Knights' senior needs 151 points to break Damon Bailey's mark of 3,134 career points.
Thomas has 2,984 points heading into Saturday's regional semifinal against Southwood.
To break Bailey's record Thomas would need Luers to advance to the 2A state finals, giving him a total of four games left to play. He would need to average just under 38 points a game to break the record.
Thomas currently leads the state at over 32 points a game. He has gone for 37 or more points seven times so far this season including a season-high 52 against Muncie South.
