FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - For the second straight Friday night, SAC doubleheaders took center stage in the Highlight Zone.
The Game of the Week ended with the Play of the Week as Northrop's Carter Rump scored off a hail mary pass from Spencer Cowherd with 0.5 seconds left on the clock to give the Bruins a 66-64 win over North Side. Bryson Scott led Northrop with 26 points. The Northrop girls kept North Side winless with a big 70-32 win.
Bishop Luers' boys needed overtime, but the Knights topped Concordia 83-79 behind a team-high 22 points from James Blackmon, Jr. In the girls game, 4th-ranked Concordia ended the game on a 9-0 run started by a three from Olivia Hahn, who had a game-high 18 points, as the Cadets beat the 2nd-ranked Knights, 44-35.
Snider swept a doubleheader at Wayne as the boys won 70-65 and the girls won on a buzzer beater from Akilah Sims, 58-57.
South Side also swept a doubleheader as the boys defeated Bishop Dwenger 71-66 and the Archer girls won 54-36.
Boys NHC play opened on Friday. 7th-ranked Norwell remained undefeated after topping DeKalb 61-41.
Behind 20 points from Drew Benedict, Columbia City won on the road at East Noble 59-43.
Homestead beat rival Carroll 48-45 despite a game-high 16 points from the Chargers' Chandler White.
New Haven kept its perfect season in tact with a 78-43 win over Bellmont. V.J. Beachem scored 13 points for the Bulldogs.
Canterbury swept a doubleheader at Blackhawk as the Cavalier boys won 50-46 and the girls were victorious 88-43.
Leo gave the scoreboard a workout winning at Garrett 99-84.
Adams Central continued its strong start to the season with a solid 64-45 win at Woodlan.
