FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Concordia boys basketball team will be gunning for the program's first-ever semi-state title when the Cadets battle Andrean Saturday afternoon at Huntington North.
The Cadets won the program's third-ever regional title this past weekend, beating Norwell 67-58 in the championship game at Blackford high school.
Concordia (22-4) now faces Andrean (22-3) in semi-state action Saturday at 3:15 at Huntington North high school.
The Cadets were ranked no. 7 in the final 3A poll of the regular season while Andrean was ranked no. 3.
Concordia is putting up 64.9 points a game this season while yielding 53.4. Andrean scores 65.0 points a game while giving up 49.6.
There is some history between the two schools, as Concordia's last trip to semi-state came in 2000 where the Cadets lost to Andrean 77-57.
The Cadets are coached by Josh Eggold, who is 78-56 in six seasons leading Concordia.
