BBB: Canterbury Tops Lakewood For Title

HAMILTON, Ind. (WANE) - Canterbury had to wait a few extra days to play the sectional championship game at Hamilton but it turned out to be well worth the wait.

The Cavaliers edged Lakewood Park Christian 57-56 on Monday night to win the sectional championship.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday but pushed back to Monday due to the Canterbury girls playing in the Class A state title game on Saturday in Terre Haute.

Canterbury led 34-24 at the half and by seven to start the third.

The win snaps Lakewood Park's 13-game winning streak.

Lakewood came into the game ranked no. 11 in the latest 1A state poll while Canterbury was ranked no. 12.

Canterbury now face Triton at Triton Saturday in regional play at 12:30 p.m.
