FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The quest for a state title tipped on Tuesday night all across Indiana as the first round of sectional boys basketball is now in the books.

In 4A action at Huntington North it was Wayne beating South Side 72-59. Justin Mitchell tallied 21 points for Wayne while Eric Hairston paced South with 24 points. The Generals advance to face New Haven at 6 p.m. on Friday in the semi-finals. In the late game on Tuesday it was Homestead over Huntington North 59-33. Nick Gamble led the Spartans with 16 points, Trevor Osborn added 14 points, while Caleb Swanigan added 10 points and 15 rebounds. The Spartans move on to face Jay County Friday at 7:30 p.m.

At Charger Fieldhouse there was only one game on the docket as Northrop topped Carroll 58-46. Purdue recruit Bryson Scott led the Bruins with 23 points while ISU-bound Brenton Scott added 13. Chandler White tallied 12 points to lead Carroll. Northrop advances to Friday's semi-finals where they will face North Side at 6 p.m.

At Elkhart Central it was Warsaw over Elkhart Central 45-44 in double-overtime. Jared Bloom led the Tigers with 17 points. Warsaw will now face Concord at 6 p.m. on Friday.

In 3A action at Garrett high school Concordia bested Bishop Dwenger 55-40. The Cadets advance to Friday's semi-finals to face Leo at 6 p.m. Woodlan beat Garrett 60-43 in the nightcap. The Warriors will now square off with Angola Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Down in Ossian Norwell opened the game on an 11-0 run en route to a 97-72 win over Eastbrook. Cam Denney led Norwell with 25 points while David Vogel added 24. Jacob Singer led Easbrook with 25 points. The Knights will get Mississinewa on Friday night at 6. Meanwhile, Whitko beat Bellmont 41-35. Trey Weber paced Whitko with 14 points. Whitko will face Heritage at 7:30 Friday.

In Wawasee it was NorthWood over West Noble 59-40. NorhtWood will now face Fairfield at 6 p.m. on Friday. In the nightcap it was Wawasee losing to Tippecanoe Valley 65-42. Tippe Valley advances to play Lakeland at 7:30 Friday in the semi-finals.

In 2A play down South Adams it was Adams Central topping Churubusco 54-33. The Jets will play 2A no. 9 Bishop Luers Friday at 6 p.m. In the late game on Tuesday Eastside edged South Adams 42-40. The Blazers take on Bluffton Friday at 7:30.

Out at Westview the host Warriors beat Bremen 71-59. Westview will take on Central Noble at 6 p.m. in Friday's semi-finals. Tuesday's late game between Fremont and LaVille was postponed until Wednesday. The winner advances to play Prairie Heights at 7:30 Friday.

In 2A play at Manchester high school North Miami lost to Oak Hill 49-20. Oak Hill will now take on Manchester Friday night at 6 p.m.

In 1A action at Hamilton it was Lakewood Park Christian over Howe 93-35 in the early game. In the late it was Elkhart Christian besting Hamilton 82-46. Tuesday's winners Lakewood Park and Elkhart Christian will square off in Friday's semi-finals at 6 p.m.

In 1A action at Monroe Central Liberty Christian beat Daleville 81-44. In the late game it was Southern Wells edging past Cowan 51-47. Southern Wells will play Wes-Del Friday at 7:30 p.m.
