FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - By way of a loss by Northrop to Concordia and a win by North Side over Bishop Dwenger the Redskins earned the 2013 SAC regular season championship on Friday night.

North Side, Northrop, and Concordia all finish 5-2 in conference play. However, the Redskins earn the title since they beat the Bruins and Cadets head-to-head earlier in the season.

North Side's Dwight Richards was the hero for the Redskins, scoring 20 in a 72-65 win over Dwenger.

Concordia took down Northrop in a tight contest 59-58.

In other SAC boys action Bishop Luers topped Snider 92-73 while Justin Mitchell's 41 points led Wayne over South Side 72-65.

In SAC girls action South Side finished undefeated in SAC play as the Archers downed Wayne 67-44. Deja Wimby netted 20 points as Snider topped Luers 83-56. Concordia edged Northrop 41-38 behind 16 points from Courtney Smith. Meanwhile, Bishop Dwenger beat North Side 58-37.

In NECC boys action Westview edged West Noble 67-63. The Warriors now take sole possession of first place in the NECC at 8-0 in conference while Westview falls to 7-1. In NECC girls action Angola finished a perfect 10-0 in conference play as the 3A no. 9 Hornets downed Fremont 67-42.

In other action the Homestead girls beat Leo 64-37 behind 25 points from Sydney Buck while the Lakewood Park Christian boys ran their winning streak to five games with a 59-32 win over Lakeland Christian.
