1/4 Friday Night Highlight Zone

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Northrop topped rival Snider 75-59 at Mark Schoeff Gymnasium in the Highlight Zone "Game of the Week" to headline local basketball action on Friday night.

Brenton Scott tallied 28 for Northrop while twin brother Bryson added 25. Northrop improves to 2-1 in SAC play while Snider falls to 1-2.

Northrop's win sets up a huge showdown next Friday night as Bishop Luers will battle the Bruins. The Knights moved to 2-1 in conference with a 68-61 win over rival Bishop Dwenger on Friday night.

Concordia remains the only undefeated SAC boys team as the Cadets took down South Side 74-51. Thomas Starks led the way for Concordia with 21 points as the Cadets are now 3-0 in league play.

At By Hey Arena it took overtime but Wayne topped North Side 68-65. The Generals are now 2-1 in conference with the Redskins falling to 1-2.

In SAC girls action South Side had four players in double-figures as the Archers topped Concordia 55-40. 4A no. 4 South was led by Brittni Clopton with 12 points as the Archers improve to 3-0 in SAC play.

Also 3-0 in the SAC is Snider. The Panthers got 16 points from future Western Michigan Bronco Meredith Shipman as Snider beat Northrop 66-51. Aleah Swary led the Bruins with 28 points. Snider's win sets up a huge SAC game next Friday between the Panthers and Archers.

In other girls SAC action it was Wayne topping North Side 65-48 while Allison Butler's 20 points led Luers over Dwenger 65-53.

In ACAC girls action Woodlan came into the night 4-0 in league play but the Warriors fell to a conference opponent for the first time this season as Leo won 70-52. Keanna Gary led Leo with 23 points and 15 rebounds while Taylor Seiss added 22 points.

In NHC girls play Norwell stayed undefeated in conference with a 70-40 win over Carroll. Homestead continues to nip at the heels of Norwell as the Spartans topped East Noble 74-47.
