FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Notre Dame-bound V.J. Beachem put up 24 points as New Haven topped Wayne 68-62 Tuesday night at Armstrong Arena to headline the prep basketball slate.
Justin Mitchell led Wayne with 18 points.
In the premier girls game of the night Snider outscored Homestead 25-12 in the fourth quarter to earn a come-from-behind 55-47 win. Meredith Shipman led Snider with 18 points while Sydney Buck paced Homestead with 21.
In other boys action 3A no. 14 Norwell topped Leo 90-64. Josh VanMeter led the Knights with 24 points. Nick Thomas led West Noble with 15 points as the Chargers topped NorthWood 63-60.
In other girls play Lauren Ehle paced Woodlan with 19 points as the Warriors downed North Side 68-53. Kavan Edwards scored 14 to lead East Noble over Bishop Dwenger 66-52, while Ally Christman scored 20 in a losing effort.
