12/4 Prep Basketball Recap

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Northrop's Brenton Scott led the way with 25 points as the Bruins topped Carroll 58-42 at Mark Schoeff Gymnasium to headline local basketball action on Tuesday night.

Scott, who has signed to play college basketball at Indiana State, went 9-of-17 from the field. His twin brother Bryson (signed with Purdue) had 10 points and seven rebounds. Cory Womack added 13 points for Northrop. Carroll was led by Chandler White with 13 and Mason Miller with 12.

Northrop is now 3-0 and ranked no. 3 in this week's 4A state poll. The Bruins will travel to 3-0 Wayne on Friday in the Highlight Zone "Game of the Week."

4A no. 19 Homestead topped South Side 74-65 on Tuesday behind a balanced scoring effort. Freshman Caleb Swanigan tallied 18 points while Trevor Osborn added 16. South was led by Domonique Gleason with 24 points. It was South's season opener while Homestead improves to 3-1.

3A no. 3 Norwell edged Bishop Dwenger 74-71. Josh VanMeter led Norwell with 26 points while Cam Denney added 16.
