4A no. 2 Homestead improved to 15-0 on the season as the Spartans downed a tough Wayne team 63-59 to headline boys action on Tuesday night.

Homestead's Zach Terrell, Seth Coate, and Trevor Osborn all scored in double figures. Wayne was led by Ronald Lucas and Justin Mitchell with 14 points each.

In other boys action Fremont got 21 points from Tyler Jenkins to beat Eastside 77-59.

In girls basketball 3A no. 1 Norwell fell at 2A no. 2 Bishop Luers 43-40 in overtime. Luers was led by Miracle Woods with 15 and Jamesha Ridley with 12. Jessica Rupright paced Norwell with 18 points.

1A no. 1 Canterbury had no problem with Whitko as the Cavaliers won 104-68. Darby Maggard led Canterbury with 28 points.

4A no. 4 South Side beat Huntington North 63-34 behind 15 points from Lakyn Gulley.

At DeKalb Meredith Shipman scored 19 while Akilah Sims chipped in 14 as 4A no. 9 Snider beat the host Barons 65-51. Rachel Dincoff led DeKalb with 24 points.

Bishop Dwenger won at Leo 45-44 with Eleni Shea leading the way for the Saints with 15 points. Akron recruit Keanna Gary led Leo with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Aleah Swary netted 20 points to pace Northrop to a 66-58 win at Columbia City.

Woodlan earned a 55-49 win over Blackhawk behind 19 points from Lauren Ehle.
