FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - In the Highlight Zone "Game of the Week" Purdue recruit Bryson Scott poured in 35 points as Northrop bested Bishop Luers 95-59 in a key SAC match-up.

Indiana State recruit Brenton Scott added 24 points while I.U. recruit James Blackmon, Jr., led the Knights with 30.

Northrop improves to 3-1 in league play while Luers falls to 2-2. The win was especially big for Northrop as Concordia - the SAC's only unbeated team coming into the night - fell to North Side 66-58. Concordia and Northrop are now atop the SAC standings at 3-1.

Wayne added to the log-jam atop the SAC by beating Bishop Dwenger 66-59. The Generals are now in a three-way tie for first in the SAC with Northrop and Concordia as they're all 3-1 in SAC play. Jescus Mitchell led Wayne with 24 points, Justin Mitchell had 17, and Levi Mitchell 12. Ryan Christman led Dwenger with 16 while Grady Eifert added 12.

At Snider it was South Side edging the Panthers 71-70. Devan Jones hit the game-winning lay up with 0.4 seconds left for the Archers.

In SAC girls action South Side beat Snider 51-44 to take sole possession of first place in the conference standings. South's Brittni Clopton led the way with 20 points while IPFW signee Ariana Simmons added 14. Western Michigan signee Meredith Shipman led Snider with 14. South improves to 4-0 in SAC play, while Snider drops to 3-1.

At Concordia the 3A no. 10 Cadets had no trouble with North Side, beating the Redskins 70-22 to improve to 3-1 in SAC play.

The Bishop Dwenger girls rallied from a double-digit deficit to beat Wayne 46-43 while 2A no. 12 Bishop Luers had no problem in a 71-44 win at Northrop.

In NHC play Homestead's Nick Gamble buried a game-winning three at the buzzer as the Spartans beat Columbia City 59-58. The Spartans improve to 3-0 in conference.  Gamble led the Spartans with 16 points while Caleb Swanigan added 13. Drew Benedict paced the Eagles with 23.

At Charger Fieldhouse Notre Dame-bound V.J. Beachem stuffed the stat sheet by scoring 18 points and pulling down 15 rebounds in a 61-50 Bulldog win. Jordan Hogue added 17 points and 12 rebounds for New Haven. Carroll was led by Mason Miller with 15 while Chandler White added 13 points and 11 boards.

Down in Ossian Norwell had no problem with Bellmont, beating the Braves 82-37. Cam Denney led Norwell with 21 points while Josh VanMeter added 19.

Meanwhile, DeKalb handled East Noble 60-42. Adison Daub led the way with 25 points and Cole Hartman had 14. Caleb Williams had 21 for East Noble.

DeKalb and Homestead are now tied for the NHC lead at 3-0 in conference play.

In the NECC tournament semifinals action Westview handed West Noble the Chargers' first loss of the season as the Warriors won 56-46. Westview advances to face Fairfield in the title game as the Falcons took down Angola 46.

On the girls side 3A no. 8 Angola topped Fairfield 51-42 to reach the NECC tournament title game. In the night's other girls semifinal it was West Noble over Westview 48-38.
