FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Homestead proved once again it is the team to beat the NHC, improving to 7-0 on the season with a 49-27 win at Carroll on Friday night. The Spartans were led by senior quarterback Matt Skowronek who tossed four touchdown passes - two to senior wideout Seth Coate. Running back Frank Martin topped the century mark on the ground and added a pair of rushing touchdowns as well. The Chargers got a big night from Drue Tranquill, but didn't have enough firepower to keep stride with the Spartans in the second half.

East Noble throttled Columbia City by a final of 79-7 to run the Knights record to 5-2 on the season. East Noble quarterback Nic Weimer continues his torrid offensive production, this time completing 20-of-24 passes for 319 yards and six touchdowns. Kyle Mundon, Brandon Mable and Harold Wolfe all rushed for at least 70 yards and a touchdown.

In New Haven, the Bulldogs got all they could handle from a feisty Bellmont team, before pulling out a 27-24 win. This latest victory runs New Haven's record to a perfect 7-0. Anthony Moore rushed for 135 yards, with Airiest Vasquez added 105 to pace New Haven, while quarterback Kevin Ware tossed a pair of touchdowns. Brad Busse carried 19 times for 167 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Braves.

DeKalb escaped Norwell with a 7-6 win, giving the Barons two victories for the season. Logan Schilling hauled in a 35-yard touchdown reception from Evan Cochran in the first half for the lone score for DeKalb.
