FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Leo's Zach Ferran kicked the game-tying field goal as time expired then kicked the game-winner in overtime as the Lions survived a scare from conference rival Heritage in a 13-10 win at Lions Field on Friday night.
Ferran, who had never made a varsity field goal, helps the Lions improve to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in ACAC play. Heritage falls to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in conference.
Garrett's Brandon Porter racked up 157 yards rushing to go with two touchdowns as the Railroaders held off hard-charging Woodlan 30-26.
Down in Berne South Adams scored the first touchdown of the game - a one-yard run by Sam Dellinger in the second quarter - but would give up 19 unanswered in a 19-7 loss to rival Adams Central.
Meanwhile, Bluffton hammered former ACAC member Southern Wells 20-0. Josh Steveler carried 15 times for 89 yards and a touchdown to lead the Tigers.
