FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Garrett stayed perfect in the ACAC - barely. The Railroaders snuck past Bluffton on Friday night, escaping with a 36-34 win behind a monster effort from running back Brandon Porter. Porter wracked up 163 rushing yards to go along with three touchdowns in the win.
Heritage kept pace as well, blowing out Adams Central at home 57-7. Patriots start quarterback Connor Sheehan was nearly perfect, completing 13-of-16 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns. Heritage now moves to 3-0 in the conference, a half game ahead of the pack.
In Leo, the Lions had little trouble with South Adams, blitzing their way to a 33-7 win to move to 4-0 on the season. Rance Harris was one of three Leo players to top 40 yards rushing, finishing with 114 on the ground and a touchdown. Receiver Jaskon Boyce caught three balls for 83 yards and a score.
Woodlan earned its first win of the season - blowing out Prairie Heights 55-29. Jaylin Bennett set the tone for the Warriors, rushing for 194 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries. Quarterback Corbin Smith tossed a pair of TDs for Woodlan as well.
