FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The post-Zach Terrell era began with a bang at Homestead as the Spartans beat rival Huntington North for the seventh time in a row 53-12.
Grayson Bastin had three touchdowns and new starting quarterback Matt Skowronek managed the offense well, despite a 12-7 lead by Huntington North in the second quarter. Homestead travels to Warsaw next week.

In Monroeville New Haven won a hard-fought game against rival Heritage, 20-14. Frank Moore rushed for 138 yards and a score to lead the Bulldogs. Moore will be counted on to replace Te'Vaughn Hurse this year, as Hurse tallied 5,000 yards and 70 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
Norwell got off to a tough start as the Knights had a big task in opening the season at Leo. Coach Jeff Miller's team trailed 14-0 early and ended up falling 56-14. Piercen Harnish had a 1-yard touchdown run while
DeKalb couldn't snap their losing streak in the season opener, losing 48-17 at Mishawaka Marian. The Barons have now lost 22 games in a row.
