Week 1 ACAC football recap

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The ACAC scored some big win on the opening night of the 2012 football season.

Leo struck early and often against Norwell in a 56-14 win. Rance Harris carried 16 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Sam Waters completed three passes - all for touchdowns - as he connected with A.J. Busche, Jackson Boyce, and Fazaun Stephens. Leo travels north to take on Angola next week.

South Adams opened the season with a 13-0 win on the road at Winchester. Sam Dellinger and Corey Seffernick each scored for the Starfires.

In Monroe Adams Central destroyed Blackford 53-14 with a 50-yard punt return for a score from Alex Byerly pacing the Jets.

In Garrett the Chris DePew era got off to a solid start with a 32-27 win over Eastside.

At Bluffton the Tigers topped Northfield 20-19. The Tigers limited Northfield to just seven yards of net passing.

In Monroeville Heritage fell in a rivalry game to New Haven 20-14. The Patriots were led by quarterback Connor Sheehan who went 12-for-25 for 110 yards and a touchdown.

At Bellmont Woodlan fell to the Braves 26-19. T.J. Sewell rushed 11 times for 194 yards and two scores to pace the Warriors.
