MONROEVILLE, Ind. (WANE) - The Heritage football team will be looking to make program history this Friday night as the Patriots try to win their first-ever regional title.
This past Friday the Patriots won the program's first sectional title since 2004 and did so in dramatic fashion. The 3A no. 8 Pats knocked off 3A no. 1 Jimtown in Monroeville 40-29.
In that game quarterback Conner Sheehan threw for 316 yards and five touchdowns. Three of those TDs went to receiver Ben Gibson.
With the win the Patriots improve to 10-2 on the year. They will travel to 3A no. 17 Mishawaka Marian (9-3 record) on Friday for regional play.
Heritage heads into the game putting up 39.3 points a night while giving up just 12.8.
The Patriots are in their third year under head coach Dean Lehrman. Lehrman is 20-13 at Heritage.
