4A: Delta Knocks Out Wayne

MUNCIE, Ind. (WANE) - The Wayne Generals saw their season come to an end Friday night in Muncie, as Larry Getts' team was beaten in the sectional 12 championship game by Delta, 18-6.

Delta would score first, as Teddy Dawson would pound it in from two yards out to give the Eagles a 6-0 lead.

Delta would add to its lead in the second quarter when quarterback Ozzie Mann kept it for himself on fourth-and-goal from the one yard line to give his team a 12-0 lead.

Late in the second quarter Delta would score again, as Dawson would take a hand-off 19 yards to bring the lead to 18-0.

Wayne would score its only touchdown in the fourth quarter on a two-yard plunge from Tyrell Jones.

Wayne ends the season 7-5. Delta travels to face Dwenger next week in regionals.
