5A: Snider Tops Warsaw For Title

The Snider Panthers are the champions of sectional 3, as Kurt Tippmann's club handled Warsaw Friday night in Kosciusko county, 33-20.

Warsaw threw the first punch, as Tyler Adams took a hand-off 37 yards for a score with 9:55 left in the first quarter to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead.

Snider answered with a Zach Barnes one-yard touchdown to even the score at seven apiece.

After another Panthers score Tyler Bobilya would hit Akeim Kelsaw for a 39-yard scoring strike, giving Snider a 20-7 lead with 1:37 left in the first frame.

Warsaw's Andy Conrad would close the gap, pounding in a one-yard score to cut the lead to 20-14 with 10:13 left in the second quarter.

Early in the third quarter Snider's Jason McGraw would fumble deep into Tiger territory. Warsaw's Tom Daniels would pick it up and go 94 yards to tie the game at 20-all.

Snider's Andy Roop would kick two consecutive field goals to give Snider a 26-20 lead with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.

After Warsaw turned the ball over on downs, Snider would put the icing on the cake. McGraw would find paydirt on the ground, setting the final at 33-20.

Snider will host Carmel next week in regionals. Warsaw finishes the season 7-5.
