Hawks lose after leading 14-0

The Hawks saw their season come to an end Friday nigth at the hands of Eastbrook, as the fourth-ranked Panthers edged Harding, 21-14.

Harding got on the board first, as quarterback Zac Haydock kept the ball on a option run for 35 yards.

Haydock would have a hand in Harding's next score as well, hooking up with Delayno Preston for a 67-yard touchdown to give the Hawks a 14-0 lead.

Eastbrook would cut the lead to 14-7 and then attempt and recover an on-side kick. Colton Benedict would cap the Panthers' drive with a 17-yard touchdown, tying the game at 14.

Eastbrook would add a touchdown before the break, giving the Panthers a 21-14 lead at the half.

The field conditions took a turn for the worse in the second half, as neither offense could move the football.

Harding finishes the year 6-5.

Eastbrook improves to 11-0 and will play at Bellmont next week for the sectional championship.
