COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WANE) - After finishing the regular season 2-7 the improving Columbia City Eagles have rattled off two wins and find themselves in the sectional championship game after beating East Noble Friday night, 17-13.

Early in the fourth quarter East Noble's Jordan Gater would find the endzone on the ground, giving the Knights a 13-10 lead.

Columbia City responded with a solid offense drive. Quarterback Connor Slavich - filling in for starter Logan Rehrer for the second straight week - would hook up with Stephen Farrar for multiple first downs. Slavich would then pitch the football on an option play to Cody Wildman for touchdown, giving the Eagles a 17-13 lead.

An East Noble desperation heave on fourth down would not connect, as the Eagles held on for the win.

Columbia City will play at Bishop Dwenger (11-0) in next week's sectional championship game.

East Noble ends the year 7-4.
