FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Two teams will have a chance to bring home a state championship this coming weekend and Bishop Luers will play in the 2A title game while Snider will battle for a 5A championship.

Luers (10-4) will take on Indianapolis Ritter (14-0) this Friday at 7 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Knights have won 23-straight playoff games and will be looking for their fourth consecutive 2A state title. A win would make them only the second team in state history to win four straight state championships (Warren Central did it in 5A from 2003-2006).

The Knights are coming off a 35-21 win at Andrean last Friday night in semi-state. Ritter beat Evansville Mater Dei 49-14 last week to punch its ticket to Indy. Luers beat Mater Dei in the 2A title game last year 41-17.

Bishop Luers already has won 10 state titles in program history, second most in the state behind Chatard's 11. Nine of those were under head coach Matt Lindsay who was fired earlier in the season. The first title was under current interim coach Steve Keefer in 1985.

Luers comes in putting up 24.7 points a game while Ritter scores 51.3. The Knights only allow 13.5 points a contest while Ritter gives up 17.3.

In 5A Snider (14-0) will square off against Lawrence Central (14-0) at 7:05 p.m. Saturday night. Snider won the program's first semi-state championship since 2004 by holding off Merrillville last week 42-39. Lawrence Central topped Center Grove 28-15 to earn its spot in the championship round.

Saturday's game will be Snider's seventh trip to a state title game. The Panthers only victory at state came in 1992.

Lawrence Central will be making the program's second state title game appearance in the last three seasons. LCHS lost to Fishers 38-19 in the 5A title game in 2010.

Snider comes in putting up 37.2 points and giving up 18.3. Lawrence Central is scoring 38.2 points while giving up 10.3 points.
