MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (WANE) - For the fourth year in a row Bishop Luers will play in the 2A state title game as the Knights beat Andrean 35-21 Friday night to earn a semi-state championship.
Luers has now won 23-straight playoff game.
The Knights scored first at Andrean, with Quinn Cook hitting Michael Rogers for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.
Kendrick Mullen would come up with an interception late in the first quarter. On the ensuing drive Luers would find the end zone again as senior Jaylon Smith broke multiple tackles for a rushing touchdown to up the Luers lead to 14-0 with 11:29 left in the second frame.
Luers will face 2A no. 1 Indianapolis Ritter in the 2A title game. Ritter beat Evansville Mater Dei 49-14.
The 2A state championship is set for 7 p.m. Friday, November 23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
