FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Snider can clinch the SAC title for the first time since 2005 with a win over rival Bishop Dwenger this week.
The Panthers come in 7-0 on the season and 5-0 in SAC play. Dwenger is 3-4 overall and 3-2 in conference. The Saints are coming off a 42-7 loss to Bishop Chatard. Snider won this matchup in overtime last year 42-41.
The annual Totem Pole game will be played this Friday as North Side battles South Side at Jack Weicker Stadium. The Redskins have won two in a row against the Archers, including a 42-7 victory last season. North Side comes in 5-2 and 3-2 in SAC play while South is 2-5 and 2-4. The Archers beat Wayen 33-10 last week while the Skins fell at Luers 22-20.
In NHC play East Noble travels to New Haven. The Bulldogs are 7-0 overall and 5-0 in NHC play after a 27-24 win against Bellmont last week. East Noble scored 79 points last week in a win over Columbia City to move to 5-2, and 3-2.
In ACAC play Leo (6-0, 4-0) travels to Garrett (6-1, 4-0) in a game that goes a long way in determining a conference champion. Leo has had two close scares in the last two weeks, beating Heritage in overtime and edging Woodlan 25-20. Garrett is coming off a 42-14 win over South Adams.
In NECC action Churubusco travels to Fairfield in a key conference matchup. Both are coming off losses, as Busco fell 35-16 at Culver Academy while Fairfield lost at Lakeland 48-29. In Busco's lost senior Jason Nicodemus rushed for 253 yards but the Eagles turned the ball over four times.
